Tesco Community Pledge: £5000 available in May!

This May, Tesco and easyfundraising have come together again to give a little help to good causes across the UK. Five community impact causes, including PTAs, will receive an unrestricted £1,000.

Your PTA could receive one of five £1,000 funding pots

You may already know that easyfundraising gives your PTA the opportunity to raise free funds every time parents, staff and your wider community shop. This month, if they shop with Tesco OR F&F Clothing via easyfundraising’s website, app, or in-store with a linked card, your PTA has a chance to receive an additional £1,000 donation!

To qualify for the Tesco Community Pledge:

  1. Register your PTA with easyfundraising (if you haven’t already).
  2. Ask everyone connected to your school to join as your supporters, for free.
  3. Encourage them to shop with Tesco or F&F Clothing via easyfundraising by May 31st. Each time one of them does so, your PTA has a better chance of receiving the £1,000.

Plus, by joining easyfundraising, each time your supporters shop online with Tesco or F&F in May (online or in-store with a linked card), they’ll raise a cashback donation* for you at no extra cost. All courtesy of Tesco!

You’ll find free downloadable images, flyers and messaging to share across your social media channels, portals and newsletters when you join. If you’re already registered, get yours here.

We often say the best recommendations are word of mouth, and we couldn’t recommend easyfundraising enough for our members.

Offering an easy, accessible and continual way to raise free funds, easyfundraising gives PTAs the chance to fundraise effortlessly through online shopping.

easyfundraising in action

Big retailers like Tesco, Amazon, M&S, Booking.com, eBay, Argos, John Lewis, Baker Ross, Clarks and 8,000 others want to give back to schools. That’s why they have partnered with easyfundraising, so when someone shops online with them, the retailer gives back a percentage of what that online shopper spends to your PTA; for free. It’s like using a cashback site, but instead of the money going to one individual, as a collective – parents, committee members, staff and friends of your school can all raise together.

How it works

For example, Sarah is buying new school shoes for her twins. Instead of visiting the Clarks website, Sarah heads to the easyfundraising website or app first then clicks the Clarks link.

easyfundraising directs Sarah to Clarks, where she buys two pairs of shoes. Because Sarah started at easyfundraising first, her PTA will receive a percentage of her spend from Clarks. It’s a win-win, Sarah is happy with her purchase, and her twin’s school will be delighted to benefit from Sarah’s smart shopping.

It is only our first month, but already we are starting to see donations adding up. The marketing tools, social media messages and posters, make it really easy to share with the school community and enables families to raise money for the school while doing their every shopping.’

What’s in it for your PTA?

Unlike one-off activities like cake sales, quiz nights and raffles etc, easyfundraising will bring in income all year round so it is the perfect option to complement those other activities.

It enables your school community to support your PTA without having to donate actual cash which is valuable, particularly in challenging times, and relieves pressure on families and your PTA. This is a low-effort fundraiser that will run in the background with minimal management required from you.

It’s amazing what a small group of people with big ideas can do. Our volunteers don’t necessarily have lots of time, they just have big hearts and believe passionately about enriching the lives of our children at school.’
