As the school year wraps up, the Parentkind Community Team want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible members across the UK. This year has been a testament to the power of community, proving that amazing things can happen when parents, carers and school staff work together.

The Community Team have had our busiest year ever! We’ve now expanded to include Community Engagement Executives in four regions, offering free in-person meet-ups. This has given us more time to support PTA members with governance, event planning, funding queries and committee guidance.

Since September, the team have taken over 8,500 calls, answered nearly 12,000 emails and held 171 dedicated support appointments. That’s almost a 400% increase from last year, showing just how engaged and proactive our PTA community has become.

Our PTA Hangout Facebook group now has 21,000 members sharing their experiences and supporting one another. It shows us that, from festive fairs and quiz nights to cultural celebrations and community walks, PTAs have created welcoming spaces where families connect, friendships are formed and community spirit flourishes. We’re really happy to have a group where so little moderation is needed – it’s become THE positive place for PTAs to connect!

As everyone enjoys the summer pause, we’re already planning for a vibrant autumn term. The Parentkind Community Advisers are here to help PTAs build on this year’s successes and go even further. In the face of changing needs, we are continuing to help PTAs adapt creatively – embracing digital tools such as AI, inclusive planning with new ultimate guides, and funding partnerships that will allow PTAs to continue to grow.

We are constantly inspired by your dedication, creativity and compassion. Thank you for everything you do for your schools and communities – it might not feel like it right now but, without you, your PTA would not be the success it is. Whether you’re stepping down or continuing for another year, now is the time to relax, take stock and see the difference that you have made.

Wishing you a well-deserved summer of rest and joy – we can’t wait to see what you achieve next year!
