Did you know it’s Christmas Jumper day on 11th December? We think just buying a Christmas jumper is far too easy, so here are five fun craft ideas your PTA can host for pupils to make their own creations!

1. DIY Christmas jumper decoration station

Set up a crafts table with plain jumpers (or T‑shirts), fabric glue, felt, pom-poms, googly eyes, ribbons, tinsel, fabric pens…pretty much any crafty bits you can get your hands on! Kids (and brave adults!) can create their own festive masterpieces on the spot.

2. Design a jumper

No jumper? No problem! Ask the children to design their dream Christmas jumper on paper. You can print blank jumper outlines and let them decorate with crayons, sequins, stickers and cotton wool snow’.

3. Christmas jumper photo booth

Craft oversized cardboard jumper frames and decorate them with glitter, baubles and mini garlands. Add fun props like Santa hats, reindeer antlers or fake snow for a festive photo booth. The photos would be a perfect inclusion into your end-of-year newsletter!

4. Mini jumper tree ornaments

Get crafty with felt and string to make adorable miniature jumper decorations! These make great gifts and could be sold at your winter fair, or you could prep some kits for the kids to buy and take home to make with their families during the festive break.

5. Design a jumper competition

Run a fun competition where pupils can draw the wildest, most imaginative Christmas jumper they can think of — think flashing lights, reindeer disco scenes or edible decorations! Offer small prizes for categories like silliest’, sparkliest’ or most original’.
