Parentkind School Attendance Report
School attendance is a cornerstone of education, but for many families, it’s becoming a battleground.
We commissioned a new poll of 1,000 UK parents alongside The Times. This reveals that while 96% of UK parents agree on the importance of daily school attendance, nearly a third of children have refused to go to school multiple times in the past year.
From arguments over attendance to concerns about mental health and lack of support for special educational needs, the barriers to getting children into the classroom are complex and growing. As debates over fines for non-attendance divide parents, this research sheds light on the challenges families face in ensuring their children don’t miss out on vital education.
