Parent Voice Report 2022

Our eighth annual survey gives parents a platform to share their views on schools and education.

Parents are key partners in their child’s education, their support and involvement matters. In fact, by parents being more involved they are actively contributing to improved outcomes for young people, with evidence highlighting that parental involvement adds two to three years to a child’s education.

Our mission is to ensure that all parents are given a platform to share their voice and views. In doing so, schools can build more effective relationships with parents and key decision-makers in education can implement positive change on issues that affect parents.

In its eighth year, our flagship research surveyed 3,750 parents (3,000 in England, 500 in Wales and 250 in Northern Ireland) to understand their experiences and perceptions of…

  1. School funding and the cost of living crisis
  2. Parental engagement in their child’s education
  3. Connecting schools, parents and the wider community
  4. Mental health and wellbeing

The report highlights the key findings across these important aspects of schooling, education, involvement with school life and parent voice. It also outlines our policy recommendations, all underlying our belief that parents are key stakeholders in their children’s education and policy must reflect this.
