Applying for a place at a state primary school is straightforward and can be done quickly and easily online.

In both England and Wales, applications open in September. Your starting point should be your local authority website which will give you access to all the relevant information.

If your child is progressing to post-primary you’ll receive a leaflet from the Department of Education with advice about choosing a post-primary school and completing the Transfer Form.
