Education Workforce Council (EWC) Wales Joint Guidance

14 January 2020
Parentkind is delighted to announce the publication of joint guidance for parents with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) on their revised Code of Professional Conduct and Practice for education practitioners in Wales.

In Wales, anybody working as a teacher or in a learning support role in a maintained school must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). This also applies to staff in other educational settings such as further education colleges and youth work. All of these 80,000 staff must also follow the EWC Code of Professional Conduct and Practice.

The purpose of this guidance document is to tell parents about the code and explain what your rights as a parent are if a teacher or learning support worker (registered with the EWC) breaches the Code.
