After being predominantly at home for the last year I’m sure many of you have exhausted your go to’ activities and are probably on the lookout for some new ones your children can look forward to.

We have put together some ideas to help you:

Indoor Activity List – checklist

  • Create a piece of art
  • Dress up in fancy dress
  • Do some baking – or make pancakes for your family!
  • Taste some food you’ve never tried before
  • Create your own song, film or comic strip
  • Play a board game – or design and make your own
  • Write and send a letter to a friend or relative you haven’t seen for a while
  • Draw a picture for your mum or dad to make them smile
  • Try yoga, there are plenty of how to’ videos you can follow online
  • Pick your favourite film character and write a story about them
  • Have a clear-out of old toys or clothes, to donate to charity
  • Make up your own game and teach it to someone in your household
  • Learn a new skill
  • Design and take part in a treasure hunt around the house
  • Do a blindfolded taste test
  • Interview someone in your family
  • Have a movie night, with popcorn

Outdoor Activity List – checklist

  • Plant a mini-garden and grow your own herbs and vegetables
  • Visit a local landmark
  • Hunt for insects or small creatures – how many can you find?
  • Build a den
  • Look up at the stars on a clear night
  • Go for a picnic
  • Create an outdoor scavenger hunt
  • Turn your garden or an outside space into an obstacle course
  • Do your normal everyday activities outside.
  • Find a local pick your own’
  • Use a map to plan a socially-distanced tour around your local area with your household
  • See the sunrise or sunset
  • Choose objects to put in a time capsule
