Mother’s Day is on 30th March. If you want to celebrate the mums and mother figures in your school community, we have ideas of some special events you could hold.

Pamper night

Is there any better gift for Mother’s Day than a pamper night? You could plan an evening full of relaxation, beautification and luxury, and sell tickets along with a bouquet of flowers for the children to give to their mothers. Our new pamper night guide has everything you will need to pull out all the stops.

DIY greetings cards

Gather the children to create their own beautiful cards for Mother’s Day. It could turn into a little arts and crafts session where they make their own, or you could book a photographer for a professional-looking card and memento all in one.

Bingo night

Host a bingo night — mothers only! The prizes could be wine, chocolate, beauty products and vouchers for local businesses such as restaurants, hairdressers or beauticians. If you plan to sell alcohol on the night, don’t forget you’ll need a TEN license.

Film night

Children and their mothers could celebrate together with a fun family film night. Some perfect films with mothers include Mrs Doubtfire, Freaky Friday and the Parent Trap. Don’t forget you’ll need a film license, and Parentkind members get an exclusive discount with Motion Picture Licensing Company (MPLC).

Bake off

Why not help the children bake something special for their mothers? You could run an after-school baking lesson to make something simple, like cupcakes or cornflake cakes. Add a competitive element by organising a mother and child baking competition — the best cake wins a prize!
