Announcement: Fundraising for our members
Recognising that the fundraising efforts of our members are typically focused on raising monies from their local communities, we have taken the bold decision to fundraise for our members, at a national level. This means that we will seek funding from larger trusts, foundations, philanthropists, Government sources and others, to help members such as your PTA to deliver even more support for your schools. We will provide more detail relating to how this will work in future communications.
We have already begun building an experienced professional fundraising team to help deliver this.
First, we are thrilled to welcome Heather Ridley to Parentkind as Director of Fundraising. Heather brings fifteen years of professional fundraising experience from her time at the Alzheimer’s Society and most recently as Deputy Fundraising Director at Whizz-Kidz.
Second, we have also been very lucky to recruit Seth Bara to the role of Head of Grants (Trusts & Foundations). Seth joins us next month, also with fifteen years of fundraising experience from his time at organisations such as Macmillan, NSPCC, the Royal Society and Whizz-Kidz, where he is currently Head of Trust, Statutory & Lottery.
Next up, we anticipate completing the recruitment of a Head of Corporate Partnerships during October, and thereafter adding additional fundraising colleagues to the team throughout 2024 and beyond.
As a federated charity of almost 13,000 PTAs, we believe that together we offer a unique opportunity for national donors to support education at scale. As such, we are making this significant investment into fundraising, with an ambition to raise millions of pounds annually to supplement member income, and although there are no certainties in fundraising, it is our hope to raise more monies for our PTA member body than we receive in membership fees by 2027.
