Prepping your PTA for the new school year
We all know that parents have a lot to prepare for returning to school in September – uniforms, shoes and equipment are all bought and readied – but have you thought about getting your PTA ready for September too?
Typically, PTAs lie dormant over the summer, recharging batteries and waiting to spring into action come September. So as the children return to school, it’s time to start thinking about your fundraising year. Whether your committee members are new to the role or returning for another year, the tasks are the same.
You may find it beneficial to have a meeting with the headteacher in the first few weeks of term to discuss fundraising goals and any big projects the school wants to complete. We’ve got a great guide on promoting a great working relationship with your school for more ideas on how you can get the year off to a good start.
You can also use this meeting to book some dates into the school diary, most importantly to set the AGM as well in advance as possible! You can finalise the planning for the events closer to the time. Don’t forget to check out our Ultimate Guides for everything you need to run events.
And of course, it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas! You’ll want to get your Christmas card project up and running to ensure you get a slot for delivery. Plus, the Christmas bazaar always takes longer than you think to get organised…!
Whatever your coming year looks like, our PTA Community Team are here for you. You can contact us via email, live chat and phone or book an appointment to get all the support you need to make this year the most successful yet.
From all of us at Parentkind, wishing you and your PTA all the best for the year ahead.
