To celebrate International Museums Day on 18th May, let yourself be transported into a virtual world of arts and culture from around the globe.

Why not explore the Eiffel Tower, stroll around the SS Great Britain or visit the Palace of Versailles?

Natural History Museum, London

There really is something for everyone at the Natural History Museum. Join Sir David Attenborough for a tour, see beautiful drawings, paintings and photographs as well as getting up close and personal with drawers of bugs. Blickling Hall, Norfolk

Step inside the grand interior of Blickling Hall, set in the stunning Norfolk countryside. The supposed birthplace of Anne Boleyn, this National Trust venue is the perfect place for a ‘family day in’. This venue truly has become a virtual museum and with the VE Day celebrations recently, it’s a great time to be making a pretend gas mask or exploring the World War II fire engine. Pompeii, Italy

Pompeii started life as a village at the intersection of three major roads and from there became a centre of trade and travel. The city prospered and well-heeled Romans took their holidays here. Take a stroll around Ancient Greece and find out what life was like for Athenians. The Parthenon is perhaps the most well-known part of the Acropolis with beautiful sculptures and is dedicated to the goddess Athena, considered to be the patron of Athens.
