Thank you everyone who got involved in our first National PTA Week 2021, whether that be through taking part in a workshop or three, entering our awards or raising awareness of your PTA Heroes across social media. Despite, my years at Parentkind our PTA members innovation, dedication and especially over the last 18 months, resilience never ceases to amaze me.
How to think outside the box – your fundraising can be so much more than events!
Parents are the backbone of a PTA, whether that is as committee members or as a volunteer. However, maintaining motivation can be challenging at times and we want to help.
The world has been turned upside down by the corona virus - this includes the world of fundraising. Not will only large charities take a hit financially but also the smaller and local charities that contribute significantly to their communities. For PTAs, much of this will come from the cancellation of annual fundraising events like the summer fair. I truly believe however that with challenge comes opportunity for growth. Now is not the time to despair but to embrace the change and give different types of fundraising a go - one great example is applying for grants.
There are lots of ways to raise money as a PTA that do not involve organising events. Here are some top tips from our Development and Membership Director to help you fundraise more effectively.
