Donna Hill and Shula Farnie — Community Advisers

We look after over 12,500 PTA members and last year answered over 17,000 queries from you.

We have both experienced being on a PTA at different times and have a wealth of knowledge to assist you with your enquiries.

Calling our support line – 0300 123 5460

At different times of the year our Support Line can be very busy – we do have an answerphone though so please leave us a message as we always respond to these. If you can include your PTA membership number or school postcode in your message it helps us to find your details on our system easily.

Sending us an email – [email protected]

Try to include as much information in the email as possible – particularly your PTA membership number or the name and postcode of your school. This will help us find your association details quickly and respond to your email promptly.

Use our resources

We have some fabulous resources available for our members to use through the Advice Hub and PTA Resources sections. Make sure the Key Contact for your association adds all the committee members to the account so they have access to the website, if the key contact needs updating this can be done under edit my details’ in the My Account area.

Website logins

We get lots of queries about login issues – each individual should have their own login rather than sharing a generic login. Make sure you create a login initially (this has to be done the first time you log in) and if you cannot remember your password just click on the forgotten password’ link.

Some of our top tips for running your association include:

  • Understand who your elected committee and automatic members are – your committee are elected at your AGM and are all equally legally responsible for running your association regardless of role. If your association is Charity Registered all of the committee members are automatically Trustees. Setting up your association info sheet.
  • Who can attend and vote at PTA meetings – Only the elected committee should attend a Committee meeting and vote. Any member can attend an Open PTA meeting and provide their opinion for guidance but they cannot vote. Committee meetings info sheet
  • Who decides how to spend our funds? – the elected committee are responsible for making the decisions on the spending of funds, they should work with the school to achieve this. Good practice info sheet

The PTA Community Advisers are on hand Monday to Friday 9:00 am‑5:00 pm to answer your calls and queries.
