Parent Voice project launches

02/10/18

Exciting things are happening to engage parents in their child's education in Wales!

Parentkind Cymru have launched a Parent Voice project in partnership with VocalEyes, to help parents have a say in the running of the school by using a revolutionary digital platform. The project will trial Parent Voice in selected schools in Wales, and gather evidence of the impact on children's school experience of increased parental involvement and engagement.

The project was launched in September 2018 at Burry Port Primary School. The school was used to VocalEyes' digital software, because they already have its Pupil Voice equivalent, in which students at the school can feed back to the Student Council.

What is Parent Voice?

The VocalEyes online platform called Parent Voice creates opportunities for parents to contribute to their child's learning. It can be logged in to anywhere, any time, which greatly helps busy parents to stay involved. It's easy to use, so parents don't have to be tech-savvy experts to use it. Parents are asked to suggest, rate and debate ideas for school improvement, and help progress priorities though to action and tangible outcomes. In this way, Parent Voice creates positive impact for all involved.

VocalEyes will help to truly engage parents in an effective partnership with schools and if successful, it can be rolled out to schools across Wales more widely.
