Getting people involved

A thriving PTA is nearly always a sign of a thriving school. Where schools have a PTA, you will find that it plays a key role in the life of the school. However, with everyone leading busy lives it can be very difficult to get people actively supporting the PTA.

When children join the school, their parents automatically become a member of the PTA, and are able to attend any open meeting and get involved. Having the wider community involved can make a real difference too, so think about the type of association you want to be (a PTFA, PA, or Friends Association for example) as this can help open more doors.

Let everyone know that all help and support however small will be very welcome. Log in for all of our tips on getting people involved, including helpful guidance on communication, making your PTA the place to be, the benefits of being involved and much more.
