By attending a parent consultation or an event, engaging with the school and parent community via social media or by simply filling out a questionnaire and giving your views, you are helping to make your school better and give your child a step-up. What does a Parent Council do?
A parent council advises the head teacher and governors. As the name suggests, they are made up of parents, but members may be selected from a parent forum. The parent council often has formal links with the PTA and the two bodies can both work to improve the school.
