Thank you for your interest in our exams 2022 survey.
For the past two academic years, the pandemic has meant that exams have been cancelled and teacher-assessed grades (TAGs) have been used in their place to decide how to award qualifications to students. The government is proposing that from next year, exams will resume. This means that students taking their GCSEs, AS levels or A-levels in summer 2022 will, under current proposals, have their grades determined by taking exams.
However, because the pandemic has caused disruption to pupils' learning, the Department for Education (DfE) and exams regulator Ofqual are looking at ways to adjust exam conditions next year, to minimise the risk that pupils will face an unfair disadvantage.
Consultation is open
The DfE and Ofqual have launched a joint consultation. They are looking for views from everybody, including parents, to inform their decisions on the arrangements for next year's exams. We know that exams is always a topic high on the list of parents' priorities, so Parentkind will submit a response, using what you tell us as evidence. This is your chance to have your say and influence policymakers directly.
Our short six-question survey is open to all parents with a child attending school in England. The survey will be of particular interest to parents of students in exam cohorts next year. The questions are tailored to parents and offer a condensed and simpler version of the original consultation. Your answers will help us to build up a picture of parents' views. The survey should take you no more than five to ten minutes to complete.
Please share the link with any friends, groups or contacts who may be interested. The more responses we receive, the stronger parent voice will be in presenting our findings.
If you would rather respond directly to the original consultation, then see the DfE's Proposed changes to the assessment of GCSEs, AS and A levels in 2022. Their consultation is open until 1st August 2021.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries about the survey or our research.
