Make a noise to tackle bullying


Our research reveals that bullying tops parent concerns, with over three quarters (77%) saying it is very important for schools to offer support in this area. Our friends at Internet Matters and Tootoot have this opportunity for you to take positive action to tackle bullying.

Internet Matters (not-for-profit organisation helping to keep children safe online) and Tootoot (a mobile-friendly safeguarding platform) are working together to beat bullying through the Make a noise programme, supported by the Department for Education. The programme gives students, parents and teachers a combined resource hub and reporting platform to create a one-stop shop for bullying support.

They have invited schools to take part in a 12 month Make a noise pilot where they provide the school with a free online service which allows children to report bullying to they can respond quickly.

  • Make a noise is a school-led programme, so schools will need to directly register. Speak to a governor or the head teacher (or other staff member, e.g., family liaison officer, pastoral support or head of year) to share this opportunity and ask them to register now.
  • The programme is limited to fifty schools in one of six regional areas around the UK, so ask your school to take action quickly!
