Parentkind is the largest network of PTA fundraisers in the UK. We bring specialist fundraising support and advice to parent volunteers so that every school can benefit from a successful PTA. Our 13,000 PTA members raise over £120+ million per year, placing us alongside some of the largest charities in the UK.
We are proud to celebrate and champion the work of all our PTA members, raising awareness of the important role parents play in their child’s education in particular through PTAs and other school parent groups.
Saving your PTA money
Being a PTA member can save your committee hundreds of pounds a year with these benefits:
We have you covered, the policy provided by Zurich Insurance plc, includes public liability insurance of £10million to cover your events and activities. Even the ones that most competitors policies exclude, like fireworks parties and bouncy castles as well as personal accident cover, cover for money loss, including misappropriation of funds and all-risks cover for PTA owned and hired-in items. Our tailor-made policy is there should things go wrong and offers protection for the committee as they won’t be liable. We work with Zurich Insurance plc to ensure that claims are fully investigated and your PTA is supported throughout the process. Our PTA members tell us that this benefit alone is worth the subscription fee.
We offer free access to trustfunding.org.uk, which alone is worth over £300; PTA Members are able to search this database of funding organisations. If you are fundraising for a large project and want to extend your activity to include grant applications, this is a great starting point.
We handpick approved suppliers, recommended by our PTA members and then verified by us. In our Suppliers Directory, you will be able to find a great range of suppliers to support your PTA with all its activity from events to ongoing fundraising that will not be available anywhere else! We work with our approved suppliers to bring our PTA members a handful of exclusive offers and competitions, featured regularly online and in our PTA Expert Magazine. Instant access to a network of trusted PTA suppliers verified by us.
Saving your PTA time
Being a PTA member saves you time, leaving you to concentrate on what's important:
We have a model constitution waiting for you. In England and Wales, it is a legal requirement for organisations engaged in charitable activities, with an annual income of more than £5,000, to register as a charity with the Charity Commission. This is an important step for any PTA. It provides formal recognition of the PTA and its charitable objects and gives your association a legal status. When applying to the charity commission you will need a constitution in place at time of registration. We can help your PTA with the registration process; including a model Constitution document, pre-approved by the Commission, fast-track registration as a PTA member and guidance on the public benefit requirement. Our model Constitution was the first constitution to be approved by the Charity Commission for NI and, if adopted without change, means your PTA can fast track its charity registration process with the Commission.
We keep our PTA members up to date with the latest news and updates via our exclusive e-newsletter, webinars, virtual coffee mornings and PTA Expert magazine. Why have a PTA
PTAs vary from school to school but almost all are involved in fundraising and getting more parents involved in the life of the school. Quite simply a PTA is a great asset to any school:
The average PTA raises £9,000 per year paying for those things that school budgets cannot stretch too.
PTAs bring parents and the wider community together and are advocates of the school.
PTAs contribute an amazing £121 million to the education of our children and young people
